Hello! My name is Scott (my students call me “Mr. R.”), and I am honored by your visit. I have spent the last two decades working to better the lives of children, with a specialization in helping elementary school–aged kids learn how to manage unpleasant emotions and control the resulting behaviors. My passion for helping the most vulnerable of children stems back to the trials and tribulations of my own youth. In working as a certified school psychologist and public school special education administrator, I have combined my personal experience and professional training to help families navigate some of the most challenging times of their lives. Having worked as a graduate-level college instructor at the University of Connecticut, I taught aspiring special education teachers how to identify educational disabilities in students. Additionally, I spent several years working with psychiatrically hospitalized children and adolescents. I am currently the principal of a small therapeutic elementary school for children in need of significant social, emotional, and behavioral supports.
I live in Connecticut with my amazing wife Kate and am blessed with two wonderful children, Caden and Ella. Last, but not least, we have an Australian Labradoodle named Linkin.

Counseling Children
My formal training in childhood counseling, private practice work with kids as a Licensed Professional Counselor, and years of delivering school-based counseling for children ages 5-12 has provided my the experience needed to broaden by sharing what I’ve learned.
Special Education
Prior to my current role, I worked as a school psychologist in elementary schools, as well as a director of special education for a district Currently, I am the principal of an elementary school designed for children in need of therapeutic specialized programming.
